Forecasts aren’t just for the weather. Using radar, we can chart the journeys of billions of migratory birds and protect these global travelers from a growing array of threats.

Our latest research, published in Conservation Biology, highlights how migration forecasts can guide efforts to reduce risks to avian migrants. Actions as simple as turning off nonessential outdoor lighting may be effective in protecting millions of passing migrants.
